Chelsea Clinton’s Expensive Wedding

Posted by madjillmom on July 30, 2010

The Clinton’s have every right to spend whatever they want on Chelsea’s wedding. They earned their money from biographies and speaking engagements while they were politicians. Current reports speculate that the cost is between 2 and 5 million dollars. Wow. This is fine. It is their choice to do with their money what they wish.

Perhaps Bill Clinton shouldn’t have lectured us all about how most of the world gets by on less than $2 a day. Perhaps they shouldn’t lecture us about our carbon footprints when they borrow private jets from their jet set friends. They also are using Soros’ mansions for the wedding party. Seems to me they could have funded a really big wedding in Haiti and done something really good for that country. Isn’t that one of the Clinton foundations big initiatives. Not rebuilding Haiti, but providing little charcoal briquettes so they stop deforesting Haiti.

I hope Chelsea and her husband will be very happy. I hope it will all be worth it.

Reptilian Vestiges per Antropologist Obama

Posted by madjillmom on July 29, 2010

We are naturally weary of people who do not look like us because we still have vestiges of a reptilian brain. This is according to Pres. Obama who was expounding on The View. Contrary to Obama’s take on the out racist tendencies, The View is not on the National Geographic channel.

He also claimed he went on The View because Michele actually watches The View. I suspect that the President and First Lady only watch it when they are on it. I hope so, but you never know which part of our only slightly evolved brain we use when we view stuff on TV.

You may have to wait for my next post. I am very busy shedding my skin.

Obama (a Regular Guy) hangs with the Devil Wears Prada

Posted by madjillmom on July 28, 2010

There was news footage of Pres. Obama being a regular guy ordering a sandwich in New Jersey today. Then, he went and taped The View. Tonight, he is at a fund-raiser at Vogue editor Anna Wintur house. No pictures of this less than regular guy soiree will be made available. Doesn’t further the “I’m a regular guy who used to have credit card balances” meme.

Mexico Needs to Butt Out

Posted by madjillmom on July 28, 2010

Dear Mexico and your corrupt Government:

Evidently, the government of Mexico has solved all the problems that are in your country. They feel that they have time to interfere in the Arizona law that might send some illegal aliens back home. I guess you have taken care of your poverty and lawlessness. Great.

Get back to us when you have.

Without Respect,

Me

Deficit Commission Solution will be Taxes, Taxes, Taxes

Posted by madjillmom on July 28, 2010

The Deficit Commission solution will be heavily tilted toward new taxes. You cannot see a Dem speaking today a stong mention of how Republicans will have to step up to the plate if they are so concerned about deficits. This is the trap. Dems can only see one remedy for deficits, more taxes.

I predict a VAT tax in the top three solutions trotted out. The Commission will put out a report in early December, and the proposal will have to be voted up or down by the end of January by a lame duck congress.

John Kerry’s and the $7 Million Boat

Posted by madjillmom on July 28, 2010

Yacht… whatever.

When asked a few days ago if he owed taxes on the boat in Massachusetts, Kerry replied “That depends on who owns it.” Was this his “only little people pay taxes” admission? Or does someone else own the boat? At the same time, he said that they always pay their taxes. So, does someone else or some other entity owe taxes on the boat? Heinz Corporation, or some non-profit political foundation?

Now he is paying the taxes. How embarrassing for him. But is this the end of the matter?

History of Repeal

Posted by madjillmom on July 27, 2010

Have there been many laws repealed on the national level in my lifetime? Prohibition is the only repeal I could think of. Are there any other laws repealed? Is there any hope?

Obama Going on The View

Posted by madjillmom on July 26, 2010

Update: President Obama decides against speaking to the Boy Scouts in person at their 100th Birthday celebration (he is the titular head of BSA) in favor of going to Manhattan to be on The View. While I wouldn’t expect him to go to the scouts every year, the 100th birthday is a special time.

OMG, how exciting. This is truly incredible. Will there be any real questions? What will he say?

The stimulus really has worked. People are just to stupid to see it.
Everything is George Bush’s fault. He drove us into a ditch.
It could have been much worse, but for me.
The world loves me more than they loved George Bush.
I am afraid of Glenn Beck.
I remember what it was like to be a little person.
I am not a Socialist.
I want to do more, but people are catching on.

The Forgotten Man

Posted by madjillmom on July 25, 2010

My husband and I started reading The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression by Amity Shlaes. The introductory chapter has some definite parallels to the current administration. It is a little like reading Atlas Shrugged.

Lindsay Lohan Still in Jail

Posted by madjillmom on July 21, 2010

While coming to grips with my extreme grief about the downfall of trainwreck child star Lindsay, I was able to:

Mow the Grass

Do three Loads of Laundrey

Vacuum Bedroom and Bath

Put fresh sheets on Bed

Put Steak into Marinate

Wash Car

Vacuum Car

Go to Bank

Pick up Dry Cleaning

I think I am in the second stage of grief.  Tired.
