Illegal Aliens to Refugees

Sometimes I entertain the thought that the reason we do not do enough to close our southern border is because we are waiting for the total demise of Mexico as a narco-state. The more chaos and killings, the closer we are to a new status for the undocumented here. Soon they will become “Refugees requesting asylum”. Does this change their process for becoming possible citizens? Every massacre south of the border makes me wonder if there will be large refugee camps set up just north of the border in the near future. It would be the only compassionate response. Never let a crisis go to waste.

Brilliant! I never really thought about it that way. You have an excellent point.
The only problem is that the politicians over here are weak, and the “refugees” will soon try to do the same thing here that they are doing now in Mexico. There is evidence of this all along the border. The drug cartels know that there is no accountability and they know that politicians in the U.S. are going to do less to stop them that the Mexican government. You might be on to something here.
