Confusion about News

Posted by madjillmom on February 26, 2011

For the last few days, I have caught bits and pieces of reports on the news.  Sometimes I am confused about who they are talking about.  Sometimes I think they are talking about Dictator Muammar el-Qhadafi, but I then find out they are talking about Charlie Sheen.  Delusion reigns.  I realize that they are in no way comparable, but the reports could be interchangeable.

Obama on the Price of Gas

Posted by madjillmom on February 25, 2011

A few days ago, Pres. Obama was asked about the price of gasoline/oil.  He replied that he is not worried about it and that his people think that when things settle down in the Middle East, prices will stabilize. He isn’t worried about the price of gas because he doesn’t pay for gas.  We do.  He will not be worried if it goes to $5 gallon.  That is one of his goals.  Stabilized isn’t going down.  At this current level, it bites into the anemic recovery.  Obama wants to funnel more government cash into “green energy” and the only way to do that is to have really high energy prices.  He doesn’t seem to understand that this may take the anemic economy down.  I guess Obama doesn’t feel my pain when we go to the gas pump.

The King’s Priorities

Posted by madjillmom on February 23, 2011

Today, as he was getting fitted for his new crown, Pres. Obama issued a proclamation on Gay Marriage.  Good move.  This will probably make all us serfs forget about this other stuff because we were really concerned about the Defense of Marriage Act and the oppressive hand of government on such matters:

Anemic Recovery + High Unemployment + Higher and Higher Gas Prices

Libya, Egypt,Various other Middle East Nations, and Iranian Warships going through the Suez Canal

LiLo’s possible jail sentence for stealing some jewelry

Two Wars

Wisconsin, Ohio, Indiana and the workers versus Government employee’s unions

High Commodity Prices and Possible Food Shortages in the World

Earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand

Gosh, the King is a genius.  After we all went back to a contented state of denial, the King came out and addressed the situation in Libya.  I am not certain what he said, but I am sure it solved things over there.  Carry on, serfs.  Nothing to see here.

King Obama

Posted by madjillmom on February 23, 2011

When the Founding Fathers put together the basis and structure of our government by writing the Constitution, the called for a government with three separate branches, each with their own roles to play.  For those who vote for Democrats, those branches are the legislative (House and Senate), the judiciary (Supreme Court), and the executive (President).  This system provides for check and balances so no one branch gets too much power.

Today, the Executive Branch, King Obama, and his lefty Attorney General Eric Holder, have announced that they do not like a law passed when Clinton was President.  Holder and King Obama have decided that the law is unconstitutional so the Justice Department will not do prosecute based on this law.  Someone call the Supreme Court and let them know they aren’t needed anymore.  Someone notify the House and Senate that their laws are not to be followed at the whim of the King.

Eric Holder has already shown that his department is not interested in prosecuting the laws equally in the New Black Panther case of voter indimidation.  Now there is another law they intend to ignore.  The Defense of Marriage Act is a state’s rights issue that the King does not agree with.  The King has been hinting at his royal evolution on this matter for a while now.  Perhaps he will come out with a scroll and read a new edict on the matter.

The Constitutional Professor now King has decided that the Constitution isn’t that important.  There need be no 3 branches anymore.

The Constitution is being shredded by our King. Can revolution be far behind?

Winning the Future for Obama

Posted by madjillmom on February 18, 2011

At Pres. Obama’s State of the Union speech last month he proposed new spending or “investment” to Win the Future.  Much was made of this WTF analogy.  Then he put out his budget with no real cuts and no real bold moves to help move the country into a sound fiscal position.  At his news conference on Tuesday, he again tried to tie this to Winning the Future.  I believe these ideas are a whole lot more about Winning Obama’s Future.

We are the first generation in a long time that has the strong notion that our children will not be able to do as well as we have.  The future is for our kids.  The debt of the federal government is strangling our kids’ futures.  The conservative/tea party/libertarians need to be all about Winning the Future for our Kids by cutting spending to the bone, cutting welfare and feel good programs, winning our wars, securing our borders, and putting us on a track to a good future for children and grandchildren.  BE BOLD.

STOP WHINING AND STARVE THE BEAST!

Wisconsin Whining

Posted by madjillmom on February 18, 2011

The Republicans have a majority and the governorship in Wisconsin.  They want to vote on the bill that will have government employees and teachers pay about 5% toward their pensions and 12% toward their health insurance.  The bill will no longer allow collective bargaining on benefits, but will allow collective bargaining on salaries.

This bill has caused the unions and the Obama’s Organizing for America (his campaign group funded by the Democratic National Committee) to go crazy with whining, protesting, littering, and lying by calling in “sick”.  In some cases, the teachers have brought students to protest for them, though it is pretty evident that they do not even know what they are protesting about.

The Democratic lawmakers have decided that because they do not like this bill, they will take their ball and go out of state.  They are duty bound to be at their post in the legislature but they do not like losing, so they left instead.  Pres. Obama has said that there just needs to be conversation and a little give and take, but evidently the Democrats in Wisconsin haven’t heard about the new civility that was supposed to be according to the powers from on high.

The teachers have a decent wage making around $50,000 per year.  This is about the same as the average wage in Wisconsin.  The difference comes in the benefits.  Government workers and teachers have benefits that are around $30,000 per year as opposed to the private sector having around 1/3 of that at $10,000 per year.  This is part of the problem.  The unions claim that they have given up wage increases to have the better benefits and that should be honored.  So apparently there argument is that they would be really better off the the average private sector worker, so they shouldn’t have to pay even less than the private sector pays for pensions and insurance.

On top of this, the teachers are staging sick outs and shutting down schools.  This puts a burden on parents.  The demonstrations and disruptions (all legal) are probably burdening the police.  The demonstrators are going to the governor’s street had to be closed so his kids would be safe going to school earlier today.  The teachers made the decision to disrupt their work to demonstrate, egged on by their unions.  The governor should demand that the days missed should be made up over however many weekends are needed to get caught up. If there is no compromise to be made, and the state is running out of money, start laying off government workers and teachers.

There are supposed to be some counter demonstrations tomorrow.  Probably Tea Party types that can’t just walk out on their jobs during the week.  I wonder if the government workers and teachers will be out tomorrow since they don’t have to call in sick?

Inflation

Posted by madjillmom on February 17, 2011

Last week, the Wall Street Journal had a table comparing the price of commodities now and one year ago.  The chart showed all up with most doubling.  If the high cost of health care brought us Obamacare, can government grocery stores be far behind. Get ready for your allotment.  Maybe some black market bread dealers.  The First Lady can let us know what to eat for real.

Republicans with Backbones

Posted by madjillmom on February 17, 2011

New Jersey Gov. Christie pirouettes on the third rail of politics and shuts down a tunnel project because it costs too much.  Florida Gov. Scott tells the Obama administration that they don’t want a high-speed rail boondoggle that will cost the state too much money.  Wisconsin Gov. Walker wants to stop collective bargaining by teachers (calling in sick and protesting).  He wants them to pay some of their health insurance costs and contribute more to their over-inflated pensions.  He may call out the National Guard.

Note to the Republicans in DC:  Be bold.  Do not back down.  Obama and crew want you to serve up the bad tasting medicine.  Do it. The federal government has hijacked my kids’ futures.  Be bold on their behalf.  STARVE THE BEAST!!!  Restore their future.

Note to the Whiners:  Quit whining.  WE ARE BROKE!!!

“The Godfather” and the Male Mind

Posted by madjillmom on February 13, 2011

“The Godfather” has always appeared on lists of best movies ever.  For whatever reason, I have never seen it until last night.  I just didn’t really get it.  I had to look up a synopsis of the story to put a few things together.  I still have a lot of questions about who did what and why.  Evidently, the who, what, and why are better understood by the male mind.  I guess they are the superior sex when it comes to crime and science fiction.
