Which is it, Mr. President?
Altruistic Humanitarian Mission because we are such a great country or Turd Sandwich?
No Boots on the Ground or CIA sandals on the Ground?
Not going after Col. Madman or signing the paperwork to go after him?
It would be nice to have answers to these questions. I doubt the press will ask.
If we are there to stop a genocide, can we do that with just enforcing the no fly zone. A few days ago, Col. Madman’s forces were able to repeal the opposition forces without any problem without their Air Force. If the Madman’s ground forces are allowed to rout the opposition and that results in mass deaths of the opposition, what will we do?
I still do not really know how I feel about this whole exercise in unclear mission in Libya. Still wondering if there really was a probability of mass killings when only a few news stories are backing this up. The biggest news story supporting the intervention was the story about the woman who was raped and degraded at the hands of Col. Madman’s forces disappearing after telling her story in front of the press. Also, if we need to cut the cost of government, is this one of the places we can cut.

The Dems are in the Peanut Gallery waiting to try to cut the legs out from under the Republicans that propose big cuts to spending. They Dems and the President have not stepped up to the plate to propose any real cuts. Even when the acknowledge that there needs to be cuts in entitlement programs, they do not actually propose these cuts. To them, it is all about the campaign for 2012. They want the issue of “Draconian Cuts” to be there for them. They want a government shutdown to pin on the Republicans. In Wisconsin and Indiana, the Dems fled the state rather than do their job. The Dems on the national level are doing nothing but waiting to pounce on Republicans for spooning out the bad tasting medicine. When they do “engage” in talks, they come from the “no real cuts” starting point to little more than minor cuts.
Republicans need to be bold and come at this situation with real cuts, across the board or targeted. Do not split the difference as this always favors the Dems and the spenders. Draconian cuts are the only thing that can salvage this situation and save my kids’ futures. Shut it down if you have to.
Quit whining and starve the beast.

Many Democrats are using talking points to try to convince us that the Republican party has undue influence by the angry mob of tea-partiers. God, I hope so. The Dems look to harangue the Republicans for cutting spending in a draconian way while under the heel of the Tea Party movement. At the same time, the press is questioning if the Tea Party movement has lost it’s steam.
If the question is who has too much influence with the political parties, I would love to see the Tea Party have undue influence on the Republican party. Which undue influence is stronger and to what end is the influence? The Tea Party wants less government and bigger cuts. The Dems Union influence only wants more benefits for unions. The unions (most particularly government employee unions) want everybody to fund their easy ride to high pensions way earlier than most who work for private industry. They want government contracts at inflated prices for all unions. They wanted Chrysler bondholders to get nothing while their union got huge chunks of the auto industry.
This argument is a winner for Republicans.

How many Senators have airplanes? Ok, not exactly have airplanes. Maybe a lot of Senators just have a little company on the side that owns the plane. The name of the company isn’t probably Senator Joe Blow’s Plane Rental LLC. Then they “rent” the plane to their campaign or office and maybe only their office. That is one way to buy a plane. If you have a plane that requires $80,000 in property taxes a year, that must be a pretty neat plane. I would really like a further explanation of this, but Senator Kerry was out on his yacht and I wasn’t able to ask him.

I do not really know how I feel about the “No Fly” zone being imposed upon the dictator Ghadaffi. I do know that the whole process to get to it was pretty messed up. I can see both sides of this one. I would like to see Ghadaffi and the Lockerbie bomber hanging from a lamppost in Tripoli for their crimes. Apparently that isn’t going to happen. We are in charge of lobbing missiles and flying airplanes over the area, taking out special targets while denying that the Ghadaffi is a target. When you wake up and the first thing you hear is one of our planes is down, you get a little clinch. Still no real clear explanation about this. I think it might be time for another soccer or Brazilian samba lesson/photo op with Pres. Obama, so just keep wondering?

Perhaps Japan is best able to handle the horrible devastation that has befallen them. The devastation and loss of life is horrible. Compare and contrast the situation to Hurricane Katrina. Two natural disasters and two different responses. There are shortages reported in Japan. The people affected are waiting patiently in line to receive aid. There is no screaming, rioting, or looting reported. There is no befouling of emergency shelters. No people ranting at the reporters that Japanese rulers hate “yellow” people. Not much public whining and crying though there must be so much pain and suffering and sacrifice.
I believe there is no real welfare culture in Japan. No whole class of people used to their government providing for their every need and want. My perception of Japan is an industrious people working hard to better themselves and their country. I would think that there are a lot of people in Japan who aren’t happy about the official response, but they are probably stepping in and doing what they can instead of waiting for the government to come in and fix it.
If this disaster happens here, I don’t think things would be going so well. I am also certain that there would be lots of hand-wringing and whining by a large group of people feeding at the government trough. They will want to be saved rather than take steps to save themselves. This doesn’t bode well.

Democratic Wisconsin State Senators have been holed up in Illinois hotel rooms for over three weeks. Who is paying their hotel bills? Are there under-the-table donations for these hotel bills and breakfast buffets at Shoneys? Would such donations be legal? I would like to see some disclosure.
Also, if the Tea Party members acted like the Union “Workers” acted in mobbing the Wisconsin Capital last night, there would be no end of condemnation for the angry mob. Pretty much no outrage over the angry union mobs.
Also, the Union has had people protesting at the Capital for more than 3 weeks. Just when do Union workers actually work?

If you have children or grandchildren, give them a call and tell them that you are sorry that their future prosperity is less important than Harry Reid’s Cowboy Poet Festival. I’m sure they will understand completely. Something tells me that the Cowboys interested in poetry would still have the urge to speak rhyme to power. Perhaps they could fund the taxpayer part by having a battle with the Indian poets in a box canyon with word weapons.
