Obama and 2008

Posted by madjillmom on May 24, 2011

Because his mode is always campaign mode, why would it surprise anyone that he hasn’t progressed past 2008 deep down in his little campaigning soul.  If Bush or Palin had done this, even CNN at this airport would be running this little fun boo-boo.  2008 was his best year.

Joplin, Mo

Posted by madjillmom on May 24, 2011

Trying to keep up with news as I walk thru the Nashville Airport. I keep seeing that Michele Obama is having problems with the wind on their trip to the UK. First it was her hair, then her full-skirted dress.

I keep thinking the people in Joplin, Missouri have had some wind trouble also. Sometimes it is hard not to feed the Irony Monster.

Alligators on the Border

Posted by madjillmom on May 11, 2011

Pres. Obama says we need to have a serious talk about illegal immigration and jokes that many of those who oppose comprehensive immigration reform are over the top in their security demands.  He says the border fence is done and that illegal immigration is the same as legal immigration.  You know, except for the following the rules and not breaking the law thing.  He stopped in Texas yesterday to try to start the race war that he thinks will bring hispanic voters to his side.  Remember, he loves Texas.  Not enough to give the state a disaster declaration for drought and fires, but to work the Hispanics into a frenzy about the racist white people.

FYI – The fence isn’t complete and Texas sorta has a moat.  Thanks for the alligator idea.

Pakistan and Obama

Posted by madjillmom on May 11, 2011

Obama was supposed to have special insight into Pockeestan.  He was a visitor in his college years when he went with a Pakistan friend to visit.  This was one of his bona fides on foreign affairs when he was running for President.  I don’t think this special relationship is working out.

Pakistan is advising Afghanistan to drop it’s  America ties and go with China.  Now, the Pakistani government is saying they will allow China access to the tail of the downed helicopter so they can reverse engineer it.  The current story is that it will go to the highest bidder.  I suggest we call the big guy in Pakistan and tell him they have 5 minutes to clear the area around the tail and then send in a cruise missile to make it a lot harder to reverse engineer.  Then refuse to send any more money to Pakistan. The Pakistanis already have their knickers in a knot, so why not another missile well placed.    Sorry for the unfortunate British reference, Pockeestan.  China probably needs another third world country to rule.

Just for a little trip down memory lane, John McCain visited other countries as well.  Most notably, Vietnam.  But he wasn’t site-seeing.

Bin Laden Video

Posted by madjillmom on May 9, 2011

The Obama Administration has released the videos of UBL watching himself on TV.  I  wonder how it makes the survivors of 9/11 feel?  Can’t see him dead, but can see him admiring himself on TV.

Obama’s Golf and the UBL Raid

Posted by madjillmom on May 4, 2011

There are stories circulating on blogs about a dithering Obama unable to make the ultimate decision about going after UBL. Within these stories are the “he had to sleep on it” to “White House Coup by Panetta and Hillary”.  I really can’t say about these stories, but they are perking up on the right side of the internet.  Although I am skeptical about them, I have to ask myself why Obama would play golf on Sunday if he knew the raid was planned.  How could he risk being on the golf course if things went wrong?

Bin Laden’s “Mansion” Compound

Posted by madjillmom on May 3, 2011

First reports of the death of Bin Laden told of his being killed in a mansion in Abbottabad, Pakistan.  I looked on Google Maps and continue to view the pictures that come in regarding the site.  Compound, yes.  Mansion?  Wow, if that is a mansion, someone was really ripped off.  I really thought a mansion in Pakistan would be so much nicer.  Have they heard of paint?  Bunker seems more like it.  Also, the pictures shown of the bloody interior show a real lack of design ability.  I guess having 24 Seals redecorate in an extreme makeover could be the problem.

Bin Laden Still Dead & Obama Re-Elected

Posted by madjillmom on May 3, 2011

The View hosts, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Barbara Walters have now told us that the killing of Bin Laden will propel Obama to re-election.  In fact, they suggest cancelling the election.  And I was vaguely under the impression that Barbara Walters was at one time a journalist and that the Constitution mandates an election for President.  What was I thinking?

Pres Obama gave the order to kill Bin Laden.

We are $14 trillion in debt as a nation.

Obama told us it was his call to kill Bin Laden.

We will add another $1.5 trillion to our debt this year and for many years to come.

Obama called his security team together to witness the raid in realtime.  He looked very concerned.

Inflation is upon us.  At least 10% in real terms, though never admitted to because gas and food are not figured into the CPI.

Obama’s heart probably skipped a beat when the helicopter went down and they had to shift to Plan B.

Unemployment still hovers around 9% and underemployment is way greater.  We have a mancession and youth unemployment is at all time highs.

Obama gave a thoughtful speech to us Sunday night with a reasonable tone.

Gasoline is still about $4 gallon and going higher this summer and I really can’t afford a Government Motors Volt.

Usama Bin Laden is fish food because Obama is President.

My kids future is much bleaker than I ever thought it would be.

I am very happy that Obama did this thing and that all went well in the mission.  But the country I love is still going to hell in a handbasket.  So fogive me if I don’t chose to re-elect Obama.

Bin Laden Death Pictures

Posted by madjillmom on May 3, 2011

Lots and lots of talk about whether the White House should put out the pictures of a dead Usama Bin Laden.  I have no doubt that it was indeed him.  And I am sure he is dead.  Put out the picture for those who don’t believe and want verification.  I will certainly take a look, but not to verify.

If Muslims are offended by it, so be it.  They lost the high ground when they dragged the bodies of American soldiers through Somalia.  They lost the high ground when they hung the bodies of American contractors off a bridge in Fallujah, Iraq.  They lost the argument when they chopped off Danny Pearl’s head on video tape.  Don’t desecrate the body, but don’t be fooled into thinking that not showing the dead man wins us any friends.  Islamic terrorists worldwide will not drop their arms next week because we don’t publish them.

Publishing the pictures might serve as a reminder what happens to you when you plot and fund a terrorist attack that kills almost 3000 Americans.

Three man on the street interviews in Pakistan showed that 2 out of three sympathized with Bin Laden.  I guess these people thought it was ok to do stuff to Americans, but will use this as an excuse to hate us all the more.

Obama and the Security Team Photo

Posted by madjillmom on May 2, 2011

The photo of everyone so tensely watching the mission go down in Pakistan is pretty interesting.  Watching the helicopter go down and the switch to plan b must have been so white knuckle scary.  But the one thing that sort of jumped out at me was the dress of almost everyone.  There are military uniforms, dress shirts and ties, some in dress shirts with no ties, and Hillary in a jacket and pants.  But only one guy is dressed like he came in off the golf course in a golf shirt and windbreaker. Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
