Obama/Osama Victory Lap
Posted by madjillmom on May 1, 2012
Evidently, Obama is taking a victory lap in Afghanistan. He wants to celebrate his decision to go after Osama, his decision alone, made a great sacrifice, taking the hard way, yada, yada, yada. Oh, and yeah, the troops are really great, too. However, it seems no surprise that this is done on this day, the one year anniversary of the killing of Bin Laden. Remember his “no spiking the ball”, from last year? Oh, but that was when he was in only 3/4 campaign mode. Now he is in full campaign and it seems just fine to claim a little trophy and rub it in the jihadi’s noses. The agreement he signed with Karzai did not need to happen on this day. Kinda like pissing on the body of Bin Laden, or posing with his body parts. But he is campaigning, so it is OK.
No costs mentioned, no permanent bases (so you guys deployed can really keep enjoying the makeshift structures you have now), something about NATO support hopes. Nothing about corruption in the government.
