Claire Shipman, one time White House correspondent, has written a book with co-author Katty Kay, advising women on how to get more confidence. The book is called “The Confidence Code: The Science and Art of Self-Assurance – What Women Should Know”. Claire Shipman is married to Jay Carney, White House spokesman.
So she writes this books advising women on confidence, but she isn’t confident enough to go on Fox News and promote the book. She backed out of a segment with O’Reilly last night leaving her co-author to deal with it.
Last week there was a lot of press about a puff piece on the Shipman/Carney family that showed Communist propaganda posters adorning their home. I just read an article where she and her co-author say Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill are confident women. Shipman then tells us she is a Christine Lagarde groupie. How grounded is that? I would guess that 99.9% of American women would not know who Lagarde is.

A 80 year-old NBA franchise owner, Donald Sterling, tells his young mistress (with 3 different aliases) some awful racist things during a phone conversation that was probably illegally taped. The man has a history of racism that evidently has been well known. This same man was to receive a NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award even with this known history. Evidently, you can buy an NAACP award. What this man told his “sweet young thing” was reprehensible. So now the NBA is suspending him for life, fining him $2.5 million, and is trying to force him to sell his franchise. The man is most certainly a racist. But he hasn’t broken the law in regard to his NBA franchise. Is Charles Barkley now calling for an all-black NBA?
About a month ago, gay rights groups ran the CEO of Mozilla out of town and out of his job for giving a contribution to a group supporting traditional marriage. This man did nothing illegal, but evidently he couldn’t be left alone to run a company.
College campuses all over the nation scheme to make it hard for those with conservative thoughts to participate in the debate. College fees won’t fund conservative speakers, conservative newspapers are stolen and confiscated, conservative speakers are sent away or heckled. Rutgers is trying to push Condoleeza Rice out. Brandeis un-invited Hirsi Ali because of complaints about her stand on Islam.
The IRS decides after signals from Obama about the Citizens United Supreme Court decision that conservative tea-party groups are to suffer at the hands of a politicized behemoth government agency.

Speak softly and carry a big octothorpe isn’t exactly what Teddy did. But it is what Obama and John Kerry are doing. Obama’s entire foreign policy is so totally lame or inept. Somehow he thought that not being George Bush would be enough to make the world take notice and be better. Now we are weaker than ever. The President has no balls. His entire policy is hashtags, speeches and empty threats. Tee up some more sanctions against Putin while the citizens of Ukraine polish up on their Russian. Tweets versus troops massed on the Ukraine border.

It was news yesterday that two 10 year olds were peddling their grandparent’s pot at their elementary school. No problem, just notes sent home to grandparent’s to better control access to their pot. No suspensions for the kids.
Now, if one of those kids had drawn a gun during an art assignment, or pointed his “finger” gun or “pop tart” gun at someone at the taxpayer provided breakfast at school, all hell would have broken loose. Suspensions and reprogramming would have been the order of the day. This world is crazy.

Obama sends US troops to Poland to reassure them that we will honor our commitment to NATO treaties Ias opposed to the pact Clinton signed with Ukraine to protect their sovereignty. Too bad Obama took out the missile defense (Star Wars) system about 10 minutes after he became President of the World in 2008. I am sure I would love to have one of my sons there without the shield. Pulling Star Wars out of Poland was one of the first signs of weakness on Obama’s part. How those chickens have come home to roost.

The Obama administration delays, once again, another decision about the Keystone pipeline. He did it because a big donor will spend $100 million in the current cycle to prevent it and Obama wants that money. (Money is only toxic to the process if it comes from conservatives, you understand. Putin will enjoy the increased cost of oil. We won’t, but that isn’t something Obama cares about.
The Bureau of Land Management is forcing grazing cattle off its lands in several states, including my own Texas. The price of beef is high, being part of the invisible basket of groceries that never seem to translate into our government showing inflation at the supermarket. So Obama and his minions decide to send armed agents to pasture land to round-up cattle. How will this turn out? The price of beef will go up even more. Why should he worry about your bottom line, the ranchers, or the last time you filled up your tank.

A few days ago, Mayor Bloomberg started another campaign to restrict gun ownership and ended his news conference by telling us all that he is going to heaven. Perhaps the State Department who bought a $400,000 sculpture of a large white camel contemplating the eye of a needle could recoup their foolish investment (for Pakistan, an Islamic country) and resell it to Mayor Bloomberg.
I sincerely hope I go to heaven when I die. I guess I even hope that Bloomberg goes there too. I just can’t believe that he is certain that his work and money spent on gun control has made certain his being ushered into the Pearly Gates.
FYI – I think the sculpture of the camel and needle is quite clever and I like it. I just don’t think that a government that is $17 trillion in debt should be buying such things.

At the pep rally for Kathleen Sebelius’ resignation at the White House today, Pres. Obama made the statement that over half of the 7 million sign-ups are people who have never had health insurance before. Is this true? I don’t believe that the government has this statistic yet. Write it down, over half.
This claim may turn out like the other things Obama has said about Obamacare. You know, $2500 savings per family, you can keep your doctor or your plan, bend the cost curve…

Why would the CIA have their analysts put forward a (false) reason for the attack in Benghazi without actually talking to those present in Libya and Benghazi? I think we know why the CIA doesn’t seem to catch much out there in the world these days. It is all analysts and not much from the field. Field work would seem to be essential in figuring out the situation. Former Deputy Sec. Morell seemed to act as the brick wall between human intelligence and the analysts in the sub basement at Langley. This still doesn’t explain Obama continuing the falsity up to two weeks later. That is on Obama. The lie served the campaign.

In the next few days, Obama will claim that there are 7 million sign-ups for Obamacare. OK, let’s pretend that is true. Once again, I ask, now what happens to those who haven’t signed up? There were 40 million uninsured before Obamacare, so now there are 33 million uninsured (if all that signed up were previously uninsured). What happens when they go to the doctor or the emergency room or fall ill of a devastating disease? Someone please tell me what happens. Will they be turned away from the doctor and hospital? Will they pay a small fine and get insurance (not from the exchange)? Please let me know?
