From Junior Varsity to Cancer in 6 Months
Posted by madjillmom on August 21, 2014
Remember when George Bush told us he wanted Bin Laden “dead or alive”. He was castigated as the “Cowboy” President, shooting first and asking questions later. Many of the media felt his statements had incited the terrorists.
Fast forward to January, 2014. Obama uses a basketball analogy and called ISIS/ISIL a junior varsity team pretending to be professionals. They weren’t Kobe Bryant in Lakers jerseys, they were not of note. Perhaps this statement was a gauntlet throw down.
Fast forward again to yesterday. Obama says that ISIS/ISIL is a cancer that has no place in this century. Did ISIS/ISIL change in that time? Were they trying to tell “Cowboy” Obama that they are in the big league? I guess his mind was really on basketball yesterday, because immediately after that he went to play golf with a former NBA star.
So now Obama says he understands the threat of this Army. But what is he going to do? He says we will act “alongside others”. He says the cancer must be stopped, not eliminated.
