Obama and the Price of Beef and Gas

Posted by madjillmom on April 23, 2014

The Obama administration delays, once again, another decision about the Keystone pipeline. He did it because a big donor will spend $100 million in the current cycle to prevent it and Obama wants that money. (Money is only toxic to the process if it comes from conservatives, you understand. Putin will enjoy the increased cost of oil. We won’t, but that isn’t something Obama cares about.

The Bureau of Land Management is forcing grazing cattle off its lands in several states, including my own Texas. The price of beef is high, being part of the invisible basket of groceries that never seem to translate into our government showing inflation at the supermarket. So Obama and his minions decide to send armed agents to pasture land to round-up cattle. How will this turn out? The price of beef will go up even more.  Why should he worry about your bottom line, the ranchers, or the last time you filled up your tank.

Obama and Income Inequality

Posted by madjillmom on January 21, 2014

Obama and the Dems are railing about income inequality and hope to ride it to more Dem wins this year. Meanwhile, their policies make the rich richer, the poor more stagnant, and the middle class hurting.

News Flash: Since time began, there has been income inequality. Obama and all his minions cannot change this. In the beginning, the biggest caveman was a better rock thrower and his belly was filled while other lesser cavemen didn’t eat as well. Bigger and smarter took the prize. Stupider and lazier sealed their fate and made little money.

There have been artificial barriers erected. Slavery, race, and a lack of access have certainly been there. But many of these barriers have come down in our country. So now, what is the excuse.

Obama can have an impact on income inequality. His way is to take from the hard working and give it to the “victims” of poverty. The war on poverty has done this for 50 years with little result and 20 trillion of wasted money. He can tell all people but mostly minorities that there is a key to becoming successful. Don’t have children out of wedlock, don’t take drugs, study in school and graduate, speak real English without swearing, don’t take the rent money and buy the latest Nike shoe, take any honest work and give an honest days work in exchange for pay. Climb over barriers. Don’t wait for the government to remove them. There are some other common sense things that can be done. But Obama only wants to talk about giving more handouts to the poor. More government programs won’t help. Reward good behavior and punish bad behavior.

We have lost the War on Poverty even worse than the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Washington Redskins vs. $17 Trillion

Posted by madjillmom on October 19, 2013

As of yesterday, the United States has over $17 trillion in debt. This should be the only story out there. But there is some need to constantly discuss changing the name of the Washington Redskins. Amazing.

$17,000,000,000,000 In Debt

Posted by madjillmom on October 18, 2013

Not me personally. Our country. That is $123,000 per working person. New breakdown based on working people because we can all see that fewer and fewer are pulling the wagon and more and more are riding in the wagon called welfare.

Remember, the Republican’s have at least tried to make that number smaller. They have been flawed in their approach, but they all want government to shrink. Only the Republicans want less spending. Dems want more spending, more stimulus, more “investment”, on and on and on until bankruptcy. The want a credit card with no limits. They think they are paying the bills when they borrow money! They think that charging things doesn’t raise the debt. Evidently, they never heard about robbing Peter to pay Paul. Only in this case, it is borrowing from China to pay welfare. Or better yet, siphoning off the value of my assets by printing money hand over fist.

I hope the Dems and Obama should be really proud today.

Stop Whining and Starve the Beast!!!!

Obama’s Economy and the Bankers

Posted by madjillmom on October 2, 2013

SHALLOW and VULNERABLE

Today, Obama called in a whole bunch of bigwig bankers for a meeting (photo-op). Many are under threat of fines and prosecution by Obama’s Justice Dept. so they came a runnin’. After Obama asked them to back his position on the Government shutdown, they came out and spoke with the press. The take away on this is when the banker said that the “recovery is shallow and vulnerable” and could not withstand an assault like the shutdown. Why is this ongoing weakest recovery unable to withstand any assault? Because Obama has done everything to make this recovery the weakest ever and he doesn’t understand that he creates headwinds the economy must fight, like Dodd-Frank, Obamacare, the Humongous Stimulus filled with green boondoggles that didn’t do anything good. Throw in raised taxes and further uncertainty and the economy (fed by crack from the Federal Reserve) keeps dragging on the bottom. Way to go, Pres. Obama. Good job. Weakest “Recovery” Evah!

Democrats Shut Down Government

Posted by madjillmom on October 1, 2013

The Dems in the Senate shut down Government. They did not negotiate with the Republicans. Obama and Reid say this “Do it our way and then we will talk.” The House sent over several options to keep the bloated government funded and the Dems turned it down every time. All sorts of compromise on the Republican side, none on the side of Dems. This “my way or the highway” mentality of the Dems is standard in the age of Obama. Obama doesn’t know what compromise is. The only way he can govern is by fiat and partisan bills like the Stimulus and Obamacare.

The Republicans will give in. Obama and the Dems will not talk to them or listen to them or compromise with them now or ever. The MSM has their backs. A shutdown hurts the Republicans, so the Dems did it.

Obama “red lines” only work on Republicans, not Putin, not Assad, not Iran, just the Republicans.

Obama is Not Very Good with Math Part 2

Posted by madjillmom on September 25, 2013

Raising the credit limit does not raise the debt says Pres. Obama. The only way it doesn’t result in more debt is to keep it at the current limit. When you give them more credit, they use it.

And how about this little item. Obamacare slush fund can’t account for $67 million spent by the IRS? Has someone checked Lois Lerner’s overseas account?

Check out the story here.

Nancy’s Cupboard is Not Bare

Posted by madjillmom on September 25, 2013

Nancy Pelosi is telling us there are no more places to cut the federal government. Not so, Nancy. Here are four examples:

  • Giving Sen. Frank Lautenburg’s multi-millionaire widow a grief payment of one year of a Senator’s pay or $178,000 or close to that.
  • The Park Service spending money on a video showing young Muslim girls talking about how great Islam is for women and that it isn’t oppressive. Aren’t they supposed to have videos on bears and geysers and stuff like that?
  • Some government study to figure out why cupcake stores sprang up everywhere. By the time they figure it out, the fad will pass. The answer is fad and fun food. Study not needed.
  • My son in Afghanistan has been cut from three hot meals a day to one and two MREs. Surely he can do without that last hot meal, Nancy.

Pivoting to the Economy Again

Posted by madjillmom on September 16, 2013

Oh, too bad, so sad. Pres. Obama was going out to give another speech to pivot from the embarrassing Syria issue to the embarrassing and anemic economic recovery, once again. But sadly, he is delayed due to the Naval Yard shootings. The White House has taken pains to tell us that Obama is being kept abreast of the attack that will probably be deemed workplace violence no matter what it really is. How sad to be abruptly halted in his newest “pivot” to the economy. Stopping mid-pivot could wreak havoc on his back. Remember how many times we have been told it is his number 1 focus.

Update:  Obama has come out to talk about employment and has reassured us that he has been briefed on the Naval Yard “incident”. He was not playing golf or cards (Bin Laden takedown) or basketball during this crisis. Neither was he sleeping or preparing for a campaign trip to Vegas. He is on top of this.  Now he is reminding us of his “it could have been worse” saving of the economy.

Strike by Fast Food Workers

Posted by madjillmom on August 29, 2013

Dear Fast Food Worker:

Yeah, go ahead and strike. After all, you are a professional. This job flipping burgers and schlepping shakes is your dream job. It is what you went through 12 years of school for. Oh, I’m so sorry. You didn’t graduate from High School. But somehow, you knew it was what you wanted to be. A fast food worker.  A worker, not a supervisor or an assistant supervisor. Not a shift manager, and not a cashier, because you aren’t really good with money. But you are great with french fries after a three-month training period. Heaven knows how hard you work. That is why my order is always correct and fast.

Go ahead. Strike. There will be lots of 16 years olds who might like your job. And remember, if this silly ploy works, a lot of the increase in pay will go to the union you will end up joining. And if your job is in a poorer neighborhood and is close to your house, don’t look for that place to stay open. You are gonna have to take a bus or two now because the poor folks who live near you won’t be able to afford the hamburgers you flip, so the franchise will close. But that is ok. You are a professional burger flipper with a couple of kids and it is only right that you be paid $15 hour. Not everyone can fix a Big Mac. It takes a lot of book learnin’ to squirt that special sauce, you know. Prove to the world why you are now worth $15 an hour. After you take the cigarette break and call your parole officer.
