Amused by Tim McVeigh Types

Posted by madjillmom on April 16, 2010

Last night Pres. Obama said he was amused by the Tea Party protests.  At about the same time, Bill Clinton was addressing the NYT and explaining the correlations between the tea party rhetoric and Tim McVeigh.  So now, Tea Party supporters are redneck racists with higher than average incomes inciting anti-government terrorism.  Clueless.

Axelrod, Garofalo and Little Ol’ Me

Posted by madjillmom on April 20, 2009

In regards to the 250,000 people who took time out of their busy lives, here is the considered opinions of those who really count:

Jeneane Garofalo: tea party participants are “racists who hate black President”

David Axelrod: “I think any time you have severe economic conditions there is always an element of disaffection that can mutate into something that’s unhealthy.”

Guess this means I am an unhealthy racist. What about you?

CNN and Tea Parties

Posted by madjillmom on April 19, 2009

After viewing the CNN mouthpiece Susan Rosegen’s treatment of the Chicago Tea Party, it is hard to believe that she didn’t come in the corporate orders to do her best to make the Tea Party participants look bad.  After view the poor excuse for journalism several time, I decided to go to the CNN website.  I really couldn’t believe it.  First, I couldn’t find any reference to the Tea Parties after going through several of the tabs at the top.  Nothing in US, noting in politics, etc.  I was able to find some articles right off the Whitehouse.gov website or DNC propaganda fairly easily.  At least two articles were headlined along the lines of what goodies you will receive from the stimulus or Obama budget.  I can’t help but see the reporter rudely tell the man she was interviewing that didn’t he know he would receive a $400 tax cut andthe Illinois would receive $50 billion.  The woman was rude beyond belief.

It is my understanding that CNN is attempting to take down all the youtube video of the embarrassing “reporting”.  They wouldn’t be pursuing this action if it was good for them to have it out there.  I would like to know more about Susan Rosegen and her distinctive style of look down her nose reporting.  I think I read that she is currently not working for whatever reason.  CNN sure makes itself proud.

Tea Party in Bryan, TX

Posted by madjillmom on April 16, 2009

My husband and drove about an hour to attend a tea party in Bryan, TX.  The crowd wasn’t huge, but it was decent.  Probably about 200 or so.  There was another tea party in the area.  If there had been an Right Wing Unseen Controller, this party and the other would have been combined.  This just goes to tell how the movement is more grassroots than the left wants us to believe.  The group was nice, with a lot of Fairtax.org supporters in the crowd.  This was interesting.  The woman who organized the effort had some speakers, including two young students from Texas A & M.  I was most impressed by them.  I do wish it had been bigger, but it was heartfelt.  My husband enjoyed going.  There was local press there.

I have looked at the roundup of Tea Parties across the nation and am once again incredulous at how the MSM played this out.  If there had been this many people dressed in pink protesting at the local Army recruiter the coverage would have been far different. If this had been illegal immigrants carrying the flags of their home countries, the press would have been gushing.  If this many people had showed up at Sen. Obama’s campaign events, the press would have felt a thrill up their collective legs and their fluttering collective heart.   But it was just us crazy Right Wing Nut Jobs carrying racists signs, calling for overthrow of the government, along with our indoctrinated home-schooled children, protesting who knows what or why.  Perhaps the MSM “journalists” could actually ask some questions and find out.  Nah…

Calling a Meeting to End Piracy

Posted by madjillmom on April 15, 2009

Hillary Clinton is calling a meeting to help end piracy.  That is a start.

My fix for ridding the African coast of pirates is as follows:

Instead of paying ransom, the insurance carriers should employ Blackwater style teams on at least half of the ships going through the area.  The teams would be heavily armed and at the ready if pirates try to board the ship.  They would stay on the ship if a port doesn’t allow them on shore.  It would be a lot cheaper than paying ransom.  The pirates would suffer the consequences, and I think the issue would be resolved.  Perhaps the shipping industry could recruit from those former military extremist wannabees that the Dept. of Homeland Security is concerned about.  You know, give them a constructive outlet for their hate.  That way, they wouldn’t have to go to Tea Parties.

Tea Parties and Tea Bagging

Posted by madjillmom on April 15, 2009

People on CNN, MSNBC, and some late night programs are having a big guffaw on tying the Tea Party movement to tea bagging.  For those of us over 30 or 35, this is a crude reference that I would not know about, but for the fact that I am the mother of three young men.  They have told me what this means to their generation.  I recently passed this info along to some of my friends and they did not know what it meant.   Thanks to my sons, I could enlighten them.  If my sons read this post, I expect them to comment.

This chuckle, chuckle, chuckle coverage and comments on the Tea Party movement really is classy coming from those in the press who are supposed to be reporting on the phenomenon.

Is Pres. Obama Paying Attention?

Posted by madjillmom on April 15, 2009

Has Pres. Obama made any comments about the Tea Party movement?  If you know, let me know.  Thanks.

Update:  ABC’s morning show reports that Pres. Obama is unaware of the tea parties.  Is he already that out of touch?

Tea Party Protests, Diversity, and the MSM

Posted by madjillmom on April 15, 2009

Yesterday, I needed to run some errands, so I timed them so I could go to the nearby Brenham, TX Tea Party at lunchtime.  There were about 200 people there (my guess).  There were twenty or so signs.  Since it was at the courthouse square, lots of traffic going by honked in support.  Our local Congressman, Michael McCaul spoke.  I couldn’t stay the whole time.  The crowd was mostly respectful.  There were a few there that were definitely more passionate than I, but that may be because they were supporting a candidate I haven’t heard of for Governor.  I need to check out this person.

Mostly the crowd was my age or older.  I did see a young man I know that is a Senior in high school.  It was certainly all white.  If the crowd was more diverse, whould it be more valid to the MSM?  Tax Subsidized ACORN workers/rent a mobs are generally not that diverse color wise, but they are assumed to be valid.  In the end, I believe the MSM will charge this off as angry, gun toting, redneck white men just like they did when the Republican took over the congress in 94.

Going to the Bryan/College Station Tea Party this afternoon.  Hope there is a good crowd there.

Traffic Spike on Mama Bin Cranky

Posted by madjillmom on April 15, 2009

Yesterday brought a spike in traffic at Mama Bin Cranky.  My guess is that it was the Tea Party posts.  I went much higher than my whole realm of friends and family.  How exciting for me.  I even got a relatively snarky comment.  Everytime I get a comment my heart flutters a little.  So please, post a comment or two.  I can take it.  There have been times when I thought I might post something truly outrageous just to see if the traffic increases.  Tea Parties don’t seem to be that outrageous, but I guess they are to some.

If you attend a Tea Party, You might be an Extremist…

Posted by madjillmom on April 14, 2009

The Dept. of Homeland Security has put out a paper/study that attempts to demonize people who want less government like the new Tea Party movement with militias and the Weather Underground.  This is certainly in line with the new thinking.  If you don’t want what they want, you are a hater.  Michelle Malkin reprints some interesting portions of the report including this little gem of wisdom:

Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

So, if you believe in limited government, state’s rights, or are opposed to amnesty for undocumented workers/illegal aliens, you are a member of a hate group.  Now, let me get this straight, Bill Ayers, Pres. Obama’s Weather Underground friend isn’t a problem for anyone.  His Weather Underground bombings were not a problem for those who voted for Obama.  But now, the Dept. of Homeland Security is concerned about groups like the New American Tea Party movement?

Now I know I will definitely go to a tea party. With any luck, I will at least get an FBI/DHS file about me and my subversive activities.  This is utterly ridiculous.
