Obama is 5 Million Jobs Short

While Pres. Obama goes around touting the unemployment number and the so-called Recovery, it turns out he is about 5 millions jobs created short. Meanwhile, the Oil Patch, and Oil Companies are laying people off. Those skilled people won’t have other jobs to go to. Their higher salaries will be gone.

This post was interesting. All the Obama stimulus promises are were a waste of money. Just like all the Obamacare promises about keeping your plan and your doctor. Just like that promise about the average family saving $2500 a year because of Obamacare.

Old Jobs Now New Green Jobs

One of the job numbers cons that the President uses is taking existing jobs and re-labeling them as Green Jobs.  When the President and his Energy Department hands out money hand over fist to Obama’s fundraisers and bundlers, you need to have a good jobs number to go along with that.  So, you take old regular jobs and re-label them as “green”.  Then you tell everyone that there are 50,000 new green jobs.  So what if these jobs are just re-labeled and not new.  They are deemed “green”, thus new and a feather in Obama’s cap.  Now, because there are so many new green jobs, you can continue to waste money on investing taxpayers money in your friends/supporter’s green companies.  This is a win-win for Obama.  But if you want one of those new green jobs, you had to have an old regular job that is re-labeled.  No real gains in green, just shuffling the deck chairs on the USS Obama and lots of stimulus/investment to Obama’s cronies.

Years and years of investment in green energy has yet to result in an affordable solar system for either residential or commercial operation.  I would consider buying one but it seems that the payback is decades and not years.  If American solar cannot compete with cheap Chinese solar, why aren’t there cheaper solar systems using Chinese panels?

Obama is Not a Grownup

PresBO is eager to run against a “do nothing” Congress.  He and his minions like to portray him as the only grownup in the room of partisan children unable to accomplish anything.  Here is the problem with this scenario.  He isn’t in the room.  He is on the golf course or campaigning.  He never enters the room.  Proclaiming yourself the grownup means that you have done what it takes to fix the situation.  Obama isn’t fixing anything.  He stamps his feet but offers no real solution.  He is the invisible President.

Since he has been President, he has been missing when heavy lifting is needed.  He farmed out the original stimulus to the Dems in congress and passed it with no Republican support.  No heavy lifting.  Just rammed through by the Dems.  Same with Obamacare. No heavy lifting on immigration reform. No leading on the budget problems and deficit spending.  Turn it over to the Deficit Commission and then ignore the results.  No heavy lifting.  Then turn it over to the Super Committee and do nothing to make it so.  Again, no heavy lifting.  Nothing on paper, no phone calls, no arm twisting, nothing…

Being the grownup means solving the problem, not campaigning on the sidelines.  Obama is not a grownup problem solver.  The only thing he actually leads in is campaign appearances.  He is way ahead of all the other Presidents in this area.

Obama’s New Advisory Whoop Ass Commission

Pres. Obama has a habit of appointing commissions and advisory boards. Whenever there is a big problem, he usually creates a group with a lot of fanfare that will advise him on said problem. After the fanfare passes, you never hear from them again. I am still waiting to hear the report from the first one he created, The Fiscal Responsibility Commission/Summitt, annoited around 2/09.

The new advisory committee, a group of experts in ______, will be meeting non-stop to give Obama a list of names so that our fiercely mad President can then apply his boot to their backside. Ass kicking starts at dawn on the Louisiana Gulf Coat as soon as he get finished with his basketball game, golf game, old rocker concert, and a date with his beautiful wife.

Summits are the most used tool of this administration. According to whitehouse.gov , here are a list of summits that have happened since BHO became the leader of the free world:

This doesn’t count advisory committees and groups. It is really a wonder that the President has the time to shoot hoops, play golf, or laugh at Paul McCartney’s distasteful rant about Bush. Our President is amazing in his ability to manage his time.

I wonder if he is mad about that Stimulus Bill not working or the casualties that are rising in Afghanistan, or the fact that Health Care Reform won’t reduce costs? Maybe he could show some rage about the 13 trillion dollar debt we have. Should I tell him these are some more things he should be mad about?

Stimulus is Epic Failure

It has been almost 16 months since Pres. Obama’s Democrat’s Wish List Stimulus was passed. It really hasn’t resorted in very many private sector jobs. It has resulted in increases in government payrolls. It has grown the government. Obamacare has further tamped down the economy and frozen private sector hiring. Add a few cups of inept response to the BP Oil Spill on top of the national debt and you have all the ingredients of failure. A double dip recession if almost destined to be. Higher taxes are a certainty. High Unemployment is going to be around for a long time. Welcome to the world of less is less. The educated, erudite emperor has no clothes.

Green Jobs Created? Any Jobs Created?

With the resignation of Van Jones as the Green Job Czar, I want to know how many jobs the Green Job Czar created in his 5 or 6 months on the job?  Does anyone know?

When Obama told us he would save or create jobs, I didn’t think they would all be Czars.

The apparent new way to create the numbers for jobs saved is to take the January unemployment numbers as a benchmark against all other months.  So if January 09 had 750,000 jobs lost and July had 250,000 jobs lost, then the administration says the stimulus has saved 500,000 jobs.  Once again, I spent $5000 in January but only $2000 in July, so I saved $3000.  Yeah, that works.  No new jobs, but talking points that say  jobs have been “saved”.    This way, if a monthly employment number shows that one actual job was created, it would really mean you saved 750,000 jobs and created 1.

I hope Pres. Obama doesn’t introduce this new math in his speech to schoolkids.

Husband Hoping for Letter from Pres. Obama

Pres. Obama has made a claim in the face of continued bad employment numbers, that he has “saved” 150,000 jobs since becoming President.  I am not certain how you know your job has been saved.  I am thinking that you get a letter from the President.  You know, something like this:

Greetings from the President of the United States of American!

I am pleased to announce that your job has been saved by my stimulus package.  I know you must be grateful.  I have done this for you just because I can.  Yes, I can. 

Somehow, I think this letter is only going out to the UAW workers at Chrysler and GM. 

My husband, who works for a corporation that is a TARP recipient, has received news that the second round of cutbacks will be done this month.  The last set wiped out 5 of 7 in his group.  He would like to get that letter from Pres. Obama. 

Will the MSM ask the administration how they came up with this 150,000 number?  No, they won’t.

Obama’s Promise to Cut the Deficit and Stimulus II

The contraction of the economy at a rate of over 6% makes Obama’s promise to cut the deficit through the use of rosy scenario growth numbers go from ridiculous to impossible. 

Since the stimulus was billed as the government filling in the big contraction hole with our grandchildren’s money, look for calls for another stimulus package due to more contraction.  It only makes sense if you go by what Obama said had to be done.  I guess the next batch will come from my great grandchildren. 

I can see it now. 

“Look at this picture of your great grandmother.  She got a $400 tax reduction and it cost me $120,000.  Hope she did something good with that $400.”

The Republican Road to Recovery

I am happy to see the Republicans putting forth a campaign to show that there is an alternative to the policies/laws/bills/budget proposed by Pres. Obama.  Obama has been able to say there aren’t any alternatives or the Republicans are the “party of no” for the last two months.  I know that is not true, but the Republicans need to better coordinate their message and not let the MSM and Pres. Obama get away with this fallacy.  They should use the web, U-Tube, national and local TV with bullet point presentations designed to get the point across quickly.  It should be easy to understand.  Much like the Contract with America was in the 1993-4 timeframe. 

I am hoping that is what this is.  My complaint is that the name sounds like we are all going into rehab or a 12 step program.  I can see how this might be the case.  I have felt a bit more like drinking lately.  Too bad I can’t afford it.

Speaker Nancy Creates a New Stimulus Distraction

I guess Speaker Pelosi didn’t want us to speculate on her travel habits, so this morning she decided to bring up the possibility of another stimulus package.  Look, we had one good day in the market yesterday.  Does that bother her somehow?  It also seems that the argument for giving the original stimulus time to work is blown.  Which is it, Nancy?  Do we need it?  Is it cover for you?  Or did the original stimulus package (written by you and your minions and supported by Pres. Obama) contain too much pork and not enough stimulus? 

Usually, distractions are anything a Republican wants to discuss.
